Create a Healthier Workplace – and Boost Productivity

The Cost of Workplace Illness

Canadians are taking more sick time away from work. On average, each Canadian misses 1.4 hours per week because of illness. Across the country, that adds up to 6.5 million lost work hours every week and costs the economy approximately $11 billion each year.

If health is wealth, something has to change.

Cleaner Air, Stronger Productivity

Better indoor air quality can enhance workplace productivity. Research suggests that cleaner air may deliver productivity gains of up to $6,500 per person annually—without restricting anyone’s personal freedoms.

Why, then, isn’t clean indoor air a priority everywhere? The Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) has published guidelines for reducing airborne disease transmission. Its recommendations include increasing air exchanges and using filtration and ultraviolet germicidal irradiation systems.

Pyure technology goes far beyond their recommendations and reduces the frequency of air exchanges, saving utility costs. ASHRAE proposes a building needs 3 air exchanges per hour to have healthy air BUT if you use a hydroxyl unit you would only require 2 air exchanges per hour, saving one-third on your utilities for cooling or heating the air.

Broader Air-Quality Benefits

Pyure technology does more than help control viruses. It also helps reduce:

  • Bacteria
  • Unhealthy odours
  • Smoke and other contaminants that can linger and become embedded in buildings and homes

Investing in clean air increases productivity, reduces staff absences and keeps employees or residents healthy. It is a smart move to make and the right thing to do!
